Crispin Lambert Architecture has wide-ranging experience in the Community sector with projects that include the refurbishment and creation of new community centres, village halls, doctor and dental surgeries, nursery and school accommodation, day centre or day care facilities, sports centres, health clubs and environmental centres.

The Practice has extensive experience of working closely with the client in developing a brief and in ensuring a design that satisfies the criteria of various funding bodies where involved. Energy-efficient schemes are central to many of our designs and indeed have won us awards. We are also highly conversant in the use of sustainable materials and matters surrounding environmental impact, both in the materials used in procuring buildings and the longer term audit on energy usage and maintenance costs. We are accomplished in presenting change-of-use applications to Planning bodies, in assisting with temporary accommodation where required and in negotiating for additional adjoining areas of land where appropriate.

Some of our community project briefs have included elements requiring specialist knowledge: sound recording studios; full stage facilities with lighting and sound control rooms; badminton, squash and tennis courts; swimming pool complexes; x-ray rooms; autoclave rooms and sheltered play areas amongst others. Our many years of expertise have enabled us to handle all these projects in-house as well as in conjunction with other professional services wherever necessary.

Being conversant with up-to-date Health and Safety, access and disability issues are increasingly paramount to all Community projects and are an integral part of each design consideration. Whilst satisfying these criteria we aim to create buildings that are as visually gratifying as they are practical and a benefit to the community at large.
